This week Owen has been practicing standing without holding on. It's really funny to watch. We were playing on our bed the other night and he must have been trying for 30 minutes straight just to keep his balance. He would stand up, let go, fall, giggle and then start the whole process again. He also said mama for the first time this week. Not on purpose just yet...we try though. I say, "Owen, say mama" and he says, "dada". He must think it's a game of some sort.

On Monday we cleaned out a kitchen cabinet for him. I set two tupperwares filled with things like measuring spoons, plastic cups, a basting brush and some other noise makers. He loves to dump everything out and make lots of noises.
It's been quite an eventful week. We moved our furniture around. Now the couch and TV are down below by the front door and the computer desk and dining table are up in the "kitchen area". I like it much better this way. We actually sit at the table now and there's much less wasted space. I also am sitting at the desk typing up this post rather than sitting on the couch.
We played with some water and practiced pouring. We visited with a friend of mine, Erin, who has a son that is only 3 days older than Owen. She and her family were out visiting from Georgia. It was really nice to see them and watch the babies play together. (I wish I had taken a few pictures of the little guys. They are so different and both so wonderful.

More Pictures :0)

In the beginning

Well, he's now 8 months old and because I am terrible and keeping my parents and distant family in the loop I decided to set up this page. Now you can see him and watch him grow with us.

Here are the facts:
Owen Christopher Souther was born on Friday, February 22nd, 2008 at 10:47 am (I think). He weighed 7 lbs and 1 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long.

He's a great little guy. He loves people and attention. He eats quite a bit and so far loves everything we give him. He says "dada" and "yay". Owen started crawling at 6 months and will hopefully not be walking for a while (fingers crossed). He has this red wild hair and a strange mix of eye color (I think they'll end up greenish brown). He has a great disposition and has been a great sleeper from the beginning. We feel so blessed to have a healthy, happy son. He loves to give kisses, which are quite disgusting and adorable all at the same time. He has two teeth as of a few weeks ago and loves to chew on anything. He looks just like Kyle, but has a little bit of a temper (like me).

I will try to keep this updated often with pictures and videos. Let me know if you have any questions.
